Who’s Behind this Blog?

“Son y Casino” is a blog managed, updated, and edited by Daybert Linares Díaz. Daybert is a High School Spanish teacher living in the United States who every now and then finds some free time to write this blog. Daybert has been sporadically teaching Cuban dances such as son, son montuno, casino, rueda de casino, and chachachá for over seven years, focusing on the social aspect of these dancers—which is why you won’t see him perform. He has taught workshops in Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore and the southern Maryland areas, New York City, North Virginia, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Savannah, and Washington, D.C.

  1. Absolutely love this blog 🙂 thank you Daybert for spreading joy, wisdom and knowledge! Keep up the amazing work. From one dancer-writer to another. Respect! Agua!

    1. Hi! I’ll probably be in Atlanta next year for either BAILAtlanta or the Atlanta Salsa Festival. I might travel to Savannah, too, to conduct workshops there with Salsa Savannah.
